This page is dedicated to showing you a series of scans of the floorplans I painstakingly created from scratch through surveying my Safeway store, taking measurements of the dimensions in paces, and scaling paces down to millimeters to create a store map.
Each image will show you the progressive creation of the map, starting with rudimentary designs, and over time working my way up to a sophisticated and comprehensive full-color design. The final product, when it is finished, will be indistinguishable from the genuine article (an internally created map)-- if there ever was one to begin with!
Specimen 1-- The Rudimentary:
The following images are the original rudimentary plans, and split into two different images, due to the map requiring a bit more than 8 1/2 x 11 inches.
The dimensions are based on the following measurements, taken in paces:
29W, 43SE, 28S, 38SE, 29E, 17S (SW exit here), 21E, 2S, 110E (SE exit here, produce starts), 55E (produce ends), 13N, 12NE, 80N (clearance here), 9NE (back area, meat dept. starts), 38W (produce ends), 65W (meat dept. ends), 14SW (back#1), 10SW (frozen food isle starts), 63W (bathrooms, back#2), 25W (bakery/liquor starts), 25W (bakery counter starts), 40SW (bakery counter ends), 25S (bakery ends.
